About Us

We Don’t Just Build Cases. We Build Relationships.

Too many law firms simply see dollar signs when they look at their clients, and do not view their clients as individuals. We strive to be different, by listening to our clients and analyzing the issues in their cases in light of their personal circumstances.

We will not tell you want you want to hear, or on the other hand, tell you that you should accept whatever is being offered to you. Rather, we will engage in a thorough analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of your case, and explain them in an honest, straight-forward manner.

Many of our clients never expected to be involved in a “lawsuit.” They are nervous and some feel ashamed that they are even seeking legal advice. They tell us that they are not the “sort of people” who would frivolously file a lawsuit. We understand, because we are not the type of lawyers who would file a baseless lawsuit. If your case is not worthwhile to pursue, we will tell you so. We will not waste your time or our time with years of emotionally draining litigation, if your case does not have merit.

On the other hand, if you are seriously injured as a result of negligence or a workplace accident, we are committed to fighting for all of your rights. We know that the most important groundwork on any case begins before the parties reach the courthouse steps. When you are represented by our firm, you can rest assured that your case will be handled with care. For more than twenty years we have cultivated relationships of mutual trust and respect with insurance carriers, other attorneys, and the Court system. If we believe in your case, we will do everything in our power to obtain the results you deserve.

Honesty is the foundation of client relationships and we’ll tell you the good, the bad and the ugly about your case. This web site has been designed to educate you on the many steps to consider if you are seeking compensation for your injury. Please review the site in full to gain a better understanding of the challenges you will face in your legal pursuit.

Lisa Pezzano Mickey
Lisa Pezzano Mickey was born and raised on Long Island, New York. In 1988 she graduated from Villanova University and thereafter received her law degree, with honors, from George Washington Law School in 1991. She first began practicing law for a non-profit organization in Newark, New Jersey. She thereafter became the senior associate in prominent Central New Jersey law firm, where she represented several different insurance carriers in the defense of workers’ compensation claims. In 2001, she opened her own law firm in Central New Jersey. She resides in Hunterdon County, with her husband and two children.

Fewer Cases—More Time For You

We are “different.” We don’t rely on a high volume of cases generated by massive advertising. We don’t claim to handle every type of law under the sun. We don’t want to. We don’t need to. Each year, we accept a limited number of injury, accident and workers’ compensation cases from the hundreds of people who ask us to represent them. We are not a “personal injury mill.” We do not allow paralegals and assistants to negotiate your case with the insurance company. Fewer cases mean more time for you and, we believe, better results overall. We have represented accident, injury, and workers’ compensation claimants throughout New Jersey for over 25 years. Most of our cases are referred to us by former satisfied clients and by other attorneys and health care professionals. If we accept your case and you are not local to us, we will come to you, anywhere in New Jersey. Sometimes the best advice you can get when you are thinking about a lawsuit is that you do not have a claim that can be won. If that is true, we will tell you. We’ll also tell you when we think you are better off handling a claim yourself—without an attorney. But, if your case passes our test and we accept it, you can be assured that you will receive personal attention. We will aggressively represent you, keep you up to date on what is happening in your case, and give you advice as to whether you should settle your case or go to trial. We will fully explain all fees and costs to you before we start working on your case. Together, as a team, we will decide on the best tactics for your case.
Wendy S. Bornstein
Wendy S. Bornstein was born and raised in New Jersey. She is a 1983 graduate of Seton Hall School of Law. For nearly 30 years, she has helped injured clients work through the legal roadblocks insurance companies present. In fact, before starting her own law practice in 1990, she spent seven years representing nearly every insurance carrier in the state of New Jersey defending personal injury claims. That experience has given her the unique ability to know how insurance adjusters think and what they require in order to settle a claim. She offers experience and a wealth of resources and knowledge in representing her clients. Wendy lives in Hillsborough with her twin daughters and their goldendoodle.

Why Should You Use A Certified Civil Trial Attorney?

"Certified Civil Trial Attorney" is a designation granted by the New Jersey Supreme Court to attorneys who are able to demonstrate sufficient levels of experience, education, knowledge and skill in civil trial practice. The Supreme Court, through its Board on Trial Attorney Certification, designates only those lawyers who apply for certification and who are able to meet the standards set by the Board and approved by the Court. The Certification program helps consumers find attorneys who have a recognized level of competence in specialized fields of the law.
